False wall for TV and fireplace
By Thomas Matthew
When it comes to creating a cosy space in your home, nothing sets the tone quite like a false wall. Whether you’re looking to hide away a television or an entire fireplace, building a false wall can be an easy and creative way to give any room a unique and stylish makeover. From deciding on the size and shape of your wall to choosing from dozens of design options, you can rest assured knowing that your custom-built false wall for your TV and fireplace will bring exactly the look and feel you desire.
See media walls we have made: a panelled media wall with a brass-lined fireplace in Lilliput and a media wall with a long fire in Canford Cliffs.
Blends Seamlessly with your home
With the false wall able to blend into any home decor and style, you are free to design your space without worrying about matching furniture and cabinetry. You don’t have to worry about colour schemes or styles, as the wall itself won’t be an eye-catching feature of the room. This gives you much more creative freedom when planning your space, as you can choose furnishings and accessories that match your style rather than trying to work around bespoke Tv cabinetry.
Cost Effective
Opting for a false wall to accommodate your TV and fireplace can present a cost-effective alternative to bespoke cabinetry. This approach not only saves money but also allows for a more seamless integration of these elements into your living space.
Why build a fake wall for your TV and fireplace
On Trend
For designers, a false wall is a dream come true. The prevailing trend now is to create a captivating media wall that serves as the centrepiece of your room, elevating its overall appeal.
Minamilist
A faux chimney breast provides a sleek and minimalistic solution by concealing unsightly TV wires and an electric fire that would typically be visible.

Testimonials
"I have now completed 7 projects with Thomas Matthew. As a busy interior designer I need to work with trades I can trust, who are thoughtful and courteous to my clients, deliver on time, within budget and exceed expectations. All of this and more can be said of this company. Matthew never fails to understand that the work they are doing for me is generally only part of a much bigger project and any slippage in timing affects other trades and the schedule in general, this is a rare quality. He and the guys he employs all did their apprenticeships together, they have therefore worked as a team for years, are a known quantity and perform as a finely oiled machine. My professional life became a whole lot easier the day I employed Matthew. We already have more projects in the pipeline and I could not feel more confident that they will continue to deliver the fabulous work myself and my clients demand. Val Plummer At No 19 Interiors"
"We are so pleased with the quality of the new handmade cupboards which have transformed our lounge. As the units were built off site, this helped to keep any disruption and time spent fitting them to a minimum. The workmen were professional, polite and respectful in our home at all times."
"I had Thomas Matthew build me a beautiful handmade kitchen. The look and quality of the workmanship was perfection. The kitchen was a traditional in frame style kitchen, hand painted in French grey with Corian worktops. I could not be happier and would highly recommend this company."
