Media walls: your questions answered
What is a media wall?
A media wall is a built-in unit across all or part of a wall, made around your TV and, if you like, a fire, with cupboards and shelves to suit. The TV and equipment are built in rather than standing on a unit, so the wall looks finished and the clutter is out of sight.
Can you build a media wall with a fire?
Yes. We build media walls with fireplaces as well as walls just for the TV. Tell us which fire you have in mind at the start, so the design can be built around its size and the maker’s fitting instructions.
Can a media wall include cupboards and shelves?
Yes. Cupboards and shelves can sit either side of the TV or below it, all made to the measurements of your room, so the wall gives you storage as well as a place for the TV.
How much does a media wall cost?
It depends on the width and height of the wall, whether it includes a fire, how much cupboard and shelf space you want, and the finish. Send us a photo of the wall with rough sizes and we will give you a guide price before anyone visits.
What finishes can I choose?
Our finishing is done in-house, by spray or by hand, in a wide choice of colours from the likes of Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Dulux.
Who designs, makes and fits it?
We do. Once the guide price suits your budget, we arrange a free design visit, measure the wall, show you the design in 3D and give you a fixed price before anything is made. Your media wall is then made in our workshop in Poole and fitted by our own team.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. We guarantee our media walls against defects in manufacture for 10 years after the work is completed, and the hinges and runners also carry their manufacturer’s own guarantee. The full terms are in our terms and conditions.
