This Christchurch kitchen is L-shaped, with deep blue in-frame base cupboards and pale paint above. The tall cupboards and the glazed wall cabinets are kept light, so the blue anchors the room without darkening it.
The hob has the place of honour. It sits under a painted mantel, built out from the wall, with a black stone splashback behind, and glazed cupboards with glass shelves stand beside it.
At the end of the blue run, a turned and fluted pilaster stands next to a bank of oak-fronted drawers: warm timber against the paint. A wine cooler is built into the run, the sink sits under the window, and the ovens are housed in the tall cupboards, clear of the hob.
Made in our Poole workshop, it is every inch a working kitchen. From across the room, though, the first thing you see looks like a fireplace.
